AIC Harrassment

Hi all. New to the forum and need some help and advice.

Last week my elderly Mum, who is stone deaf, received a phone call. The "gentleman" on the other end of the line started asking for lots of information which Mum (lets call her Mrs. Smith) gave him. After a lengthy coversation she asked what the call was in relation to and he said he couldn't tell her as he need to speak to Mr. Smith. Mum pointed out that they'd have a job as he died 10 years ago. The person on the other end of the phone got very irate and asked for confirmation of this by return of post. Mum stuck to her guns and said no as she had no idea what this was about. The "gentleman" refused to repeat the company name or give a phone number. He then said he was looking for Mr. Peter Smith. Mum pointed out that her husband had been called Mr. Adam William Smith, and that there was no-one in the family by the name of Peter Smith. The bloke on the other end of the line put the phone down.

End of story...no. While I was visiting today she got a message asking to ring AIC urgently concerning Mr Peter Smith. I phoned the company and told them there was no-one of that name at this address, never had been and there was no-one in the family with that name. I asked them to stop harrassing my mother. They were very aggressive on the phone and would not confirm what their company do. Having Googled them they are a debt recovery agency.

How do I stop them harrassing my mother?

Many thanks for any help and advice you can give.

This 'company' needs reporting to CSA!

I'm "dealing" with them at the moment. It seems they're acting on behalf of Aktiv Kapital First Invstmnt (sic) who have bought my debt from First Lombard Tricity...

I have asked for a copy of the original credit agreement and deed of assignment etc.
