Help Struggling on DFW Abbreviations

I know this will make me look totally stupid but I was told an old Chinese proverb

He that asks the question looks stupid for 5 minutes, he who doesn't ask the question looks stupid for a life time

So with that in mind can anybody please help me with some of the abbreviations that I keep seeing across the boards as Im not understanding some of the threads because I don't know the lingo....

DS
DD

amongst others that crop up along the way, any help would be greatfully appreciated

Doh!!!! Tried seaching abbreviations but not Dictionary many thanks.

When you point them out it is so plainly obvious.

Hi Rainbow, I only stoped lurking in march, I think I'm getting to grips with the forum now, but the abbreviatons still keep fooling me. I Thought LOL meant Lot's of Love:eek:. Sorry Niddy but you had me worried for a moment!. Keep plugging away mate (mate'ess) cos thats another problem I have.

Sorry Horace for calling you mate when I should have said Luv. Then again thats another problem Oop North you can say to a fellow whats Oop Luv, say that to a southern girl and you wil get an earfull.
