I do not know if this is the right place to post this.
However I was wondering if there is a way you can buy cds and books from America and send them to UK. I know about the address mail forwarding service but I was wondering there are any other way you can collect stuff in America and sent them cheaply to UK?!?
Which one is the cheapest forwarding service? For 1 or 2 kgs...
And do you have to pay taxes on articles like books and cds to import them for personal use?
Thank you Liz

I've just rented a Parcel2go USA postal address & I'm appalled at the service.
Basically after renting my US address for one year, I went on to buy an AV amplifier on US Ebay (cost in UK £500, cost in the USA £150!)...I gave the US retailer my Parcel2Go US address & he shipped their using UPS...I could track it online & saw it arrived at Parcel2Go's Miami centre last Thursday.
Since then nothing....nada.
For all I know UPS could have left it on the doorstep.
i've since been in touch with Parcel2Go's UK customer service helpline who, i'd have to say are a worse than useless ie "You need to mail us"
...I therefore email them & don't get a response.
I'd strongly advise against using Parcel2go....they suck wolf's cookies.0 -
That's incredible and I sorry to hear that...You should ask for the money back as I know they are not particularly cheap as well....that is really a terrible service from a big company like them!!!...maybe other american companies are better but quite costly I think in the end you should be lucky to find "the good one!!!!"...or if you are lucky a friend address is even better...No reliance should be placed on the above.0
