This is probably a simple problem but not for me, between this and the football I have a headache.
I'm trying to open a file from a website an application form for a job.
I did what it said and selected word processor to open it with but now all I keep getting is this:
"word cannot open (file).asp. The file may be in use by another application, the file format may not be supported by any
of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt"
I have no idea what it means or what to do, but really really need this open as want to send off the application by email tonight.
Any help would be really great thank you in advance.

- is aASP an actual file or the html component request that that opens a file ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. if its a .asp then you have to use editor to open the file.0

What Richie FTB says. An ASP file is a web file [asp = Active Server Page] which I think should download the file for you - yyou open the asp file with a browser and do whatever the page says - ideally save the file. If th ASP file ismeant to download the file and open it in the right program, it is a non standard way of doing it, which deserves to fail from the web authoring point of view.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. This is a problem with their website. I'd contact them asking them to email you it. My bet is this:
- Their ASP server is broken thus the webserver is seeing it as a file instead of it being execute. Thus, you're downloading the actual .asp file when it was probably meant to execute on their server and feed you the file.Just another dumbass with money...0
