How to deal with agency calls.

Sadly this has been my conclusion too. You see a job you want to apply for, phone them up, yes you are ideal come down and register, by the time you have finished registering the job no longer exists - probably never did.
After experiencing this with six different agencies I decided to avoid them completely.
Blood pressure back down and staying down
Yea, but have you got a job yet?0 -
They are not a waste of time but a necessary evil. My last 3 or 4 jobs have been through agencies. However they can be infuriating for sure.
Make you all sorts of promises then renege on them. Make timescales seem critical, then contact you about the same position 2 months down the line. Come begging when one of their other candidates lets them down.
When you speak to them, sound enthusiastic but not desperate. Give the impression that you would enjoy the job while not coming accross as desperate. Most importantly, always remember that they need you just as much as you need them!!!
Bob.
Tried all that. I registered with one around 5 years ago (before my last job) and never heard anything back. I registered with another one around january-february time, they called my loads but I never heard anything back from these jobs. Ive totally given up on them now esp when I havent heard from them since april
