What is the best way to sell old jewellery. Is it safe to send it off in a bag? What if it has stones? Help we want to make some cash.

I called postal gold and they sent me a padded envelope, I sent some stuff, I was thinking do I send it or chuck it in the bin? They called me the day after I sent it, offered me £90-I was over the moon! I know some people say you should take it to a proper jewlers etc but I thought it was worthless. Anyway 2 days later I got the cash

Gold is so expensive nowadays, if you have some to sell now is the best time, that why we have all these companies, bombarding us with adverts to sell our gold.0

There is a discussion in the shopping thread (I think) about a company called Hatton Garden Metals. They are getting great reviews and offer more than most other companies for your gold. Their website tells you all about what to do if your jewelery has stones in it etc.
