Has/Is anyone claiming any of the "back to work" type benefits???

I've been give lots of info about this by the Job Centre but find it all a bit confusing.

Has anyone actually claimed any of these benefits?
If so, which benefit was it, how did it work and did it help you?

I claimed a Return to Work Credit when I came off ESA. £40 a week tax free for a year. It absorbed some of the costs and gave me a "wage" of sorts until I'd sold enough stock to get to a point where I could take all the profit out of a sale instead of putting the profit towards increasing stock levels.

    Which benefits are you receiving?

For IS (lone parent) you get a one off £250 grant if you've been claiming it at least 26 weeks.

Then, if you've been claiming over a year you can also get the £40 a week grant for a year. It stops if you earn more than £15k though - you have to send in wage slips every now and again.

I don't know if it's different for other benefits.

I was also told there is a discretionary grant for helping with interview clothes and I could apply for another discretionary grant in the first 6 months of starting work if I met unforseen financial hardship and may otherwise have to stop working.

Looks to me like you'd get the same through claiming IB and the times scales are the same:

There is also the council tax/HB run on.
