Liposuction

Hi All,

I know this isnt very MSE but I just want to know if anyone has had liposuction and their experience of it and the costs involved?

Something I'm seriously debating but would rather ask someone who's done it, than what the clinics say.

Thanks

a couple of friends of mine have had it done.

The cost depends on how many places you want the fat removed from. One friend paid 3.5k and another paid 4k. Lipo is used to change the shape of your body not necessarily make you thinner. So you won't go from a 14 to a 10 after having the op. You won't see your final shape until weeks/months after as there will be swelling and the surgen told my friend that this could be up to 12 months (not meaning proper bloated etc just very minute, it gradually goes back IYKWIM)

You can still put weight on but what you will find is that you will see weight going onto a different part of the body. E.g my friend carried weight on bottom and thighs, she had some fat removed from these areas, then put weight on but it went on her middle 1st rather than her usual bottom and thighs.

There are many different forms now so do your research as to what would best fit your aim.

Recovery time - you have to wear surgical tights (if on hips/bottom/legs) so the skin can re-afix itself to the rest of you... that can be up to 8 weeks. Not sure about other parts of the body as I don't know anyone who's had it done anywhere else, and of course it is painful for a good few days after the op. And of course depending on what type of op you go for and where there could be little scars that look anything from like tiny slits to a mole.

Good luck with whatever you decide xx

yes it is rather daunting, but both are really happy they've had it done and all the pain and palaver is a distant memory now.
