HELP!!! Going crazy with creditchecks

Options
Hi

I am looking for some advice on how to solve a problem with getting declined for credit.

Some background:
in January this year I had a credit check appear on my Experian file from Vodafone and at the same time a mobile phone arrived that I had not ordered. I could get nowhere with Vodafone but as I suspected identify fraud contacted Experian who put a temporary Notice of Correction on my file. This is when the problems started!!!!!!!!!

Since then I tried to apply for a loan and had 2 declines. The lenders won't tell me why, apart from it failed the automatic credit check.

I applied for a credit card - decline!!!! They won't say why.

The final straw is that I have just tried to active a sim card for my ipad with 3 mobile (£7.50/month - 30 day contract) - Declined!!!

I have done credit scores with both Experian and Equifiax and my score comes out in the top 10% of credit scores i.e. as near to perfect you can get. I have not defaults, CCJ etc and never declined before.

I have tried to contact Experian and Equifax and from both just get standard literature and passed back to the lenders.

Is there anything else I can do!!!!!

Thanks
Dave

Have you actually taken a look on your credit reports to see what it all says?

On the basis then, that you credit is fine then you need to contact experian and equifax. You can go on contact us and also seek out a contact phone number...Its also worth contacting Vodafone and telling them to get a move on!

  • Ok thanks. Have contacted both Experian and Equifax and they are useless. They won't do anything.

Vodafone are worse they claim to know nothing about it.

Hence very frustrated and feeling helpless.

They usually do - how have you contacted them?

  • I have contacted them by email. Tried calling them but just get passed back to email by recorded messages.

Have you tried Equifax on 0844 335 0550?
