Help!

Hi All

I have been a very silly girl and last year took some excellent advice and signed up for the DAS scheme - am now on there and things with that are going well. However, my mortgage(joint with my husband) has just changed from a fixed rate to a variable rate. Am a bit concerned about what this could mean for future payments - at the moment they haven't changed dramatically - but they could go up depending on how things go with the economy. Anyway - I know I can't get into any more debt and can't apply for any whilst I am in the DAS scheme. So I wondered what would be the likelihood of success if my husband tried to remortgage only in his name. We do have equity in the property but nowt is selling at the moment so that isn't an option for us. I just want to have the reassurance of having fixed payments that we can afford!!
I would appreciate any help and advice you can provide!!!

You can just ask your current lender for a fixed rate (assuming they're offering them). This won't entail any new credit checks etc.
