Head to Head

I'm looking to team up with some one or a number of people who want to be debt free and lose weight. I have tried with my O/H to get sorted out but after adding everything up and planning then after a couple of days then back to squre one ........ My lightblub moment on holiday after thinking about money life etc....
Like most people we have argued over money and other things but now I feel I'm on own with this. been together for over 23 years ( 40 next year ) plus I love her lots. Anyway up until 3 years ago everything okay. On Very good money .... moved house and got a jumbo sized mortgage then I got depressed... ( got councilling but like most things all down to self to get things done ). Been self employed income fell and then the debts increased. Last year had breakdown ... very low. Now much better... and also put on loads of weight  I'm paying everything but from time to time miss payments and get alful calls from lenders. Its basically rob Peter to pay Paul. I have working self emplyoed for 18 years so increasing income is ' easy '.

My problem is since my breakdown I have changed as a person and I'm just tied off been in debt all the time, overweight etc... I want to change most things. I want to pay off all debts ( expect mortgage ) in three years lose a load of weight and get sorted out job wise, also get my house done too. So not asking for a lot then....
I should be talking to my O/H but I honestly feel that she is not up to the job to do this. I am the one that got into the sitution so I'm the one to get out of the situtions too as I am old fashioned and ashamed of been in debt.
So any takers then ................ ?

Hi, well it's my goal too to be debt free in 3 years before I'm 40. So I'm up for it.

Are you feeling alot better now? What kind of business do you do?

I have my own business too and could be making alot more money but I had a few health issues myself and don't want to burn myself out again by over working etc..

Best of luck with achieving your goals and I look forward to watching your progress...

    Hi headcase
    This all sounds horrible familiar.
I feel at I am at a very similar position - i.e. fat !!!!!!! with no money and frankly I am fed up with it.
Oh and am going to be made redundant in the next few months.

So I am up for a challenge
We all evolve - get on with it

Well we need to set targets.. i.e when want the head to head to finish and what we aim to achieve in that time.. i.e weight loss and debt payment!

I'm at work so don't have my debt figs to hand! Weight wise those figs are at home too! but will post them up when I get home! I have 1 target to pay £1,200 of debt (well my holiday and spending money) by 1st of Feb.. I'm not sure if that's a suitable target for anyone else?

:D This is my sitution. I'm 18 stone and 5 foot 9 inches. I'll be happy under 13 stone. I'll intend to lose a 1lb a week from now onwards...

I have about £95000 of debt  of which £20000 loan with Halifax with 3 years to go. £2100 on credit card and £20000 each to my O/H, mother and repay my surrendered endowment. The rest £13000 is made up of overdraft £ 3.5k ) and other bits and pieces. I want this paid off in 3 years time

my mortgage is £245000 interest only on a fixed rate. I want to go onto repayment in years time

moved into 1930's semi and needs total upgrade and kitting out.

Finally get my head sorted and enjoy life....:rotfl:

Thats the bad part. the good part is I accept I can not live like this any more and I intend to sort this out as I got ourselves into this mess. My O/H can not help or be strong to get through this hence the need of a head to head so can help / support ourselves to get through this.
I am in a job where can earn very good money. Would you belive I'm a Independent Financial Adviser/ mortgage broker and recuite too with my own businesses. So here goes...........:T

I intend to post updates on this site weekly.

This week to get exact amounts - debit debits and see what I can save on payments.

Well I can match you on weight near enough! :D

I've lost nearly 1.5st so far.. so I'm now at 18st.. and height of 5ft 10inches.. so our BMI are nearly the same (are you male or female???). I've been losing at 1lb a week.. which after reading my Fat Nation book is a good amount to keep it off! I think I might struggle with the change of weather so this challenge will keep me on the pulse!! (I hope). But I only got for 11 week weigh ins.

As for debt.. will get back to you.. as all figs at home..I've got numerous OD's and cc!! Pay day for me tomorrow tho.. so this challenge better get up and running asap! :lol
