Hi all,
I think I may have been living in a cave as I popped into my local Morrisons to stumble across the Dettol no-touch soap dispenser starter pack (1 dispenser, 1 refill and 4 batteries). We have tried both the Simply Human ones in the past but found that neither worked for very long and both leaked soap all over the place. So, I thought I would take a punt on this Dettol one...I have to say although it is not as good-looking as the Simply Human one, it is far far more efficient.

I know there are some who may think this is a bit of a gimmick, but for those that are interested, hope the cheaper price will help a little!

Don't you think this is the most ridiculous invention ever??

Surely it doesn't matter whether or not you touch the dispenser, you're going to wash your hands anyway!

I was thinking that it might be good for my kids. Just that the they sometimes struggle to pump out the soap.

Ha ha! My 9 year old said the exact same thing this morning! Made me feel really stupid as I hadn't even thought of that!:o

I love them. I wear disposable gloves when handling meat, but when you make bread, or empty the bin etc it means you do not have germs from the bin or bread mix all over the pump, then have to clean the pump also.

Great for parents after dealing with nappies too :)

As a genral rule of thumb everything next to a sink should be cleaned anyway. Splashback and airborne particles get every where.

Thinking properly you can now turn the tap on with your dirty hands, dispense soap hands free, keeping the soap clean (irony there I think), wash and then turn the dirty tap off with your clean hands.

So yeah a pointless product that uses up more batteries to get thrown in a land fill and extra packaging too. All the hospitals will have them soon, sold on the pretence they prevent germs spreading. Keeping PR happy and the sales people happier. But stripping money away from real services.

My taps do not get touched by the hands, I use the tap turners, usimg my elbow or wrist if dirty.

I love the simple human one as it means after the xxth time dealing with someone incontinent in the home, I do not have to clean the soap dispenser yet again.

I'm very aware of hygeine and know the score.

    I only use rechargables.
