Credit Report

I have looked in depth at my credit report really for the first time and realised that my active current account is not on it. I have a joint 'house' account and a current account I opened and then closed on it but the one I have used for 16 years isn't...

So would my current account not being registered on this report harm my credit rating?

Which credit reference agency did you check your report with?
It could easily be that it appears on one or both of the others.

If you went for a credit application with a lender who uses only this CRA then whether it will effect your chances would depend on how many other active accounts you have showing - if you have a few other credit accounts it will probably make no difference.

Oh and slightly obvious question but I assume you do have an overdraft agreed on this current account?

  • Hi, thanks for the reply and sorry for the delayed response I posted then wasn’t online for a week.

I checked it through the Credit Expert/Experian.

I have a quiet a few Credit Card accounts (which I have just cancelled the first one) but no other current accounts that would be in credit or show my regular income which why I thought it might be harming my rating.
  • sorry missed the last question. I do have a £200 overdraft on it but the account is generally in credit...

    Thanks again...

You should get your £2 postal report from equilfax as well then and see if it is on their.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
