Capital 1 debt management

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has experience of Capital One when going into debt management. I have serious problem debt, which I have been trying to get under control. I have now almost run out of options - I know the only way to go is debt management but I have heard some real horror stories about capital one selling the debt on and adding charges when their customers go onto debt management. I had hoped to pay them off in full and close the account down before I started contacting creditors with offers etc.
If I take this step (reluctantly) I do so in the hope of starting to solve my debt problems - not adding to them or changing one nightmare for another. Any advice anyone please?

Have you spoken to one of the debt charities? and considered doing a DMP through them rather than negotiating with creditors yourself? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2077631A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Excellent suggestion from Tixy. I used to work in debt management for Cap 1 so if you need to know anything else, PM me and I will try to help you if I can. x*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
