Need some remortgaging help.please!

Hi we are in the 3rd year of our mortgage withe the chelsea, not sure of the rate but we pay £309 per month on a 49000 mortgage.we are in an ex council house with a value of about £115000.we also have a personal loan of £20000 which we pay £303 per month for.I think we have to pay a £2000 penalty if we switch mortgages as we`re on a 5 year fixed term however we are desperate to save some money on our monthly outgoings.I earn about £1200 per month net and my wife about £600.Could anyone advise us on remortgaging or other options to pay off the loan and bring our outgoings down.i `ve been looking at the ONE account but i don`t think it`ll save us much......thanks in advance.....Alan..ps..........p.m. me if you want more details of our finances......thanks.

  • Hi

Rather than remortgaging to consolidate your debts have you contacted chelsea to see if they will offer you a further advance? you need to avoid paying thoses redemption penalties as they will likely outweigh any saving you make once you have consolidated

You need to check out the early repayment charges on your secured loan and your mortgage. Once you have got them give them a broker and they will let you know if its viable to remortgage or not
