I have a personal loan with the halifax and 3 years ago i called them to change the bank details from one account to the other. I have checked my statements recently and cannot see that they have been collecting the loan payment, its seems that the account has disappeared from the system. What should I do?

Have you checked your credit reports for this loan?
Was you old account closed down (rather than just emptied and not used)?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Not checked credit report - are there any free ones to use? The account is still open just not used.0

Not all debts are reported to all of the 3 agencies. You need to look at the reports from them all. Are you on the electoral roll? if you are not this can affect whether all your debts appear on your credit report.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
callcredit will be the least likely to show anything - especially from halifax. Expect to see the loan in Experian and Equifax, both of whom offer a free trial.
Do not be surprised to see a huge pile of red missed payment indicators and possibly a default. However, having received no collections communications over this via mail or phone; I take it you have not? Then it may not even show as being late on the credit files either.0
