At the risk of giving fellow procrastinators another excuse to spend time on the computer you might find this site interesting.
She has a lot to say about why we procrastinate and how to change.
You do not want to find yourselves retired, without the discipline of work and still procrastinating0 -
I saw this and.... Gasp..... OMG....... I've been a victim of identity fraud.
I feel........ violated.
Scary thing is.... this could have been me writing this.
Plus I know someone who moved to Oz from the UK 6 months ago but I don't think you are her unless you are lying about your age.... are you??0 -

Hee hee, I saw your post and though "I didn't write that, what's going on?" but then realised there are two Blue Monkeys!!!!!!!! How bizarre; but no, I'm not lying about my age...;)0 -
Yesterday's list went quite well actually.
Wednesday 14 July 2010 (in no particular order)
· [STRIKE]Do mealplan/shopping list [/STRIKE]
· Buy hair dye
· [STRIKE]
· Look for / buy new work shoes at lunch
· Buy birthday cards (for niece and friend)
· Walk home from work (as the sun is out today)
· Walk via greengrocers, drop that off at home, then go to supermarket for the rest of the food shopping
· Cook nice dinner for OH
· Sort out passport and utility bill for int'l transfer
Hair dye I'm fine to put off until tomorrow because that will be the first opportunity I'll get to do it, so it can wait. Other than that I did everything else. The "nice" in "cook nice dinner" is debatable, but other than that, I'm chuffed with yesterday's achievements.
I'm off to a good start today too:
Thursday 15 July 2010
· [STRIKE]
· Get up when alarm goes off
· Walk to work
· Remember passport/utility bill [/STRIKE]and get company lawyer to certify
· Send off docs for international cash transfer
· Write to friend in the UK to get reminder of when her wedding is to send card on time
· Go for stroll at lunch time
· Go to circuit training
Although my list is written down on here, I also found it useful to write this list out on a post it note and keep it next to my laptop/in my bag/in my coat pocket so that I could easily remember what I had to do.
Tiddlypip!

Lol i am a procrastinator too! Silly things with us in just getting 'things' done!
Things off the top of my head are:- Chase up dd's uniform that cost a fortune and some hasn't come..been ages now.
- Order our kitchen sink which has been on the cards for months
- Book a holiday or we will never go!
- Do my tax return
- email a friend who has been sending me loads and i never reply..oops!
- Chase up bank as no new card etc yet and again ages waiting
Sink was ordered yesterday which is good
holiday is harder than it sounds! so not done
tax return still looming!
Emailed friend last night so thats done too
Bank not done but will check tom when i go into town.
I also have had a lovely frame from my sister sat in the hall since Feb which has been awaiting our holiday pics to go in from months ago!! Finally did that night before last!
thing is i feel so much better for doing it so am trying to just get on with things! You are not alone.0 -
Wow! I know its been said a couple of times over in this thread but this really was like reading something out of my own diary!
I am terrible when it comes to getting things done! I really am the Queen of Last Minute! I'm the person who turns up late to birthday parties cos I had to go shopping for the present on the way there! Or the one that ignores phonecalls from private numbers on my mobile cos I suddenly realise I forgot to pay a bill! Or leaving a parking ticket until the 13th day to pay and narrowly missing the "reduced fee" and its never because I dont have the money but always because I forget or think "I'll do that this afternoon/first thing in the morning/later on" and never get round to it!
I've never even thought of doing a "to do list" but after reading the positive effect its had for you guys I think I might just try!0 -

God that is one of the things that really annoys me about myself too! I can see hundreds of birthday presents for people but never buy them, think im being really orgonised and then suddenly on the morning think 'OMG i haven't got anything!!'
Today i did a list at work of 3 jobs i had to do and..i did the 3 jobs..lists do work!!0 -
Have had a little progress this week... I've been brave and written a new 'to do' list. I've realised that doing a list for each day doesn't work for me as I get disheartened when I see all the things not done. Instead, I've compiled a list to be completed between now and Sunday evening, so I'll see how that goes!
I've also been making an effort to get up earlier, the last couple of days I've got up 30 minutes earlier than I usually do. So, I've been doing little jobs in the kitchen while preparing breakfast, that usually I would do in the evening after returning from work.
Next thing to work on is restarting my exercise regime, I was doing really well up until the start of the year, I was jogging three times a week and could do 5k distance combined jogging and walking. However, I got injured and I'm having ongoing physiotherapy. I've been told I can restart jogging, but injury is still niggling. So, I'm going to do a minimum of one jog and one other session of cardio, plus two sessions of strength training per week and try and build back up slowly.0 -
The weekend has been pretty productive... All of my list was done on Friday and Saturday I was a busy bee, getting up early, going to the gym and generally buzzing around doing stuff.
Today has seen a bit more faffing unfortunately. We were out last night (not that late) and I've been shattered all day. Really should've gone for a run as the City 2 Surf is in 3 weeks time and I'm a bit worried about how I'll cope doing it as I've not done anywhere near enough training.
It's Sunday night here in Sydney, so I'm starting to think about the week ahead, and tomorrow feels quite busy already:
Monday 19 July 2010- Drop trousers in to be mended
- Go for long run and then swim
- Food list and shopping
- Send birthday card
Anyway, hope you've all had good weekends!
