refused a personal loan can i get a loan secured on the house

got refused a personal loan for £10000,got bad credit history missed payments on a credit card (halifax).if i apply a loan on the house secured on it will it make any difference on the outcome. dont know if i have any ccj.
income £30000
mortgage £240a month
got £15000 left on the mortgage
value of the house £320000

You need to find out the exact state of your credit file before you start applying for more loans secured or not.
You need to know if you have a CCJ as you'll need to arrange to pay it.
Get copies of your credit reports from the credit reference agencies via the free trials or the £2 statutory reports.

update guys the guy at the banks says i have a ccj on a credit card.i just did a full experian report and a credit score,it says i have no ccj,i do have low credit score for late payment on the card plus its maxed out.could the bank got it wrong about the ccj or is it experian wrong.

If you are looking into getting secured finance, you'd probably be far better off remortgaging, since you only have a tiny mortgage, as opposed to getting a secured loan (so your house is just as much at risk) at what is likely going to be a much higher interest rate.
