Capquest/HL Legal

Hi All,
Hope someone can give me some advice, I have a debt of £324 with shopdirect which was sold to Capquest. I told them by letter how much I would be able to offer per week and basically told them I would offer no more as I couldn't afford it. They agreed initially then sent income/expenditure form which I refused by letter to send in as my financial info is none of their business.
Anyway, I have been paying what I offered regularly since April and have just received a letter from HL Legal (next desk to Capquest:rotfl:) informing me that I have not responded to Capquests letters (I have, and have copies and proof of postage) and that If I don't pay or call them within 7 days they MAY take court action, then they list court fees/interest etc.
I just wondered whether to send them a stinking letter telling them again what I have been and will continue to be paying or should I put in a claim for unfair charges to Shopdirect ( I have all statements) and will this put the account into dispute with Capquest/HL Legal ? Just wondered what I should put in the letter, any advice welcome.
Thanks,
Ju.

I would send letters to both companies cc in each other at the bottom, and say word for what you put here. I believe you are in the right, you have offered them an amount (which they have been happy enough to take) and now they're denying all knowledge of it and are asking for a unfair sum. Be firm but not harsh with them, you know they will only send more nasty letters. I would also call in a few days to ask if they have received your letter.Today's Debt:
B/Card = £6,410 F/D = £3,190
Loan = £0 Woohoo!
Total Debt = £9500
Debt as of 26-1-11:
Total Debt = £14,3250 -
Do as Clang has suggested BUT send both letters recorded delivery, then you do not need to ring to see if they have been received!0
