Lost Deed Poll document HELP!

Guys help

Had a phone call off my Mum last night to say her and Dad couldn't find my birth certificate or deed poll certificate.
Basically 10 years ago my Mum re married a lovely man so all us kids changed to his surname.
Now last night I applied on line for my copy birth certificate so that should be on root soon.
What I am worried about is when we give notice of marriage this September it says you will need a copy of your deed poll document. Surely my passport which says my new name is proof enough and proves that at some point I did have my deed poll document! Solicitors want nearly £200 to do it again because they destroy their files after 7 years I no longer exist according to their records! Charming!!

Ring your Registrar and ask what documents you will need in your particular situation, and if they say "certificate of deed poll" then ask if they know how you can get a copy - there must be a register somewhere - I don't know where to start but they should do!

I gave notice a few months ago and they did need my deed poll - however to get a 'new' deep poll is only £35, much cheaper than £200!!

where is it you can get a new one? Is that online? My original solicitors want £200 but I guess thats a solicitors fee!! Is there a genuine place you can get one??
