    It's just above school dinners.

Yes, that's where it comes out, but where are you putting it?

If it's in savings you should have a figure under "cash" under "assets".

I thought i was being good on entertainment compared to some iv'e seen. That is basically for 1 meal out for us once a month, maybe 2 at a push if any pub deals are on. My partner is currently on maternity leave and was/is employed by me but won't be able to keep her on. I will be able to clear the majority once i sell, at least the big one, i will be using the cash from this place for the new purchase so don't require a morgage.

You asked for help, but won't take any of it on board?

Sorry, i'm trying :(. Never struggled with money before, ran a successfull business before this one which i sold to fund the house purchase and put the rest towards a new business.

Are school dinners £10 a month or a week?

£10 a week, we could try a pack lunch but i'm not sure we would save much.

Don't see how we can cut groceries bill, works out at around £75 week. 2 tins of baby powder is £16 and then nappies another £10 and jars of food about £12 just for baby alone. I don't actually like a lot of foods, veg and all that - i had a very poor diet as a child so i blame that.

And no intention of changing that now?

Then it should be more like £40 on your SOA ;)

It doesn't cost £40 a month to feed a child lunch. I bet you could do a packed lunch for £1 a day or less. No need for them to have meat every meal.

Iv'e tried a to branch out and have discovered some new foods i like but still have a limited diet and probably not a great one.

I'm still fine tuning the SOA, i think we can get rid of the school dinners then and manage with our current groceries budget. Perhaps just a school dinner once a week maybe, on a Thursday they have a roast dinner so he will get at least one hot meal at school a week.

I was very suprised that our shepherds pie with veg cost about £4 in total including good quality minced lamb - and it was easily enough for 3 adults and a 15 year old!!

Anyway, sorry, off on a tangent. Don't say sorry for not being good at this, I was the same when I started and got similar comments like I obviously haven't had my Light Bulb Moment yet! These guys can help, just be open minded and actually think about everything that's mentioned and really be honest with yourself about IF it can be changed, then decide if it's a better option or not.
