Is there a number or an address on the letter that you could contact them with?

  • simply write to them stating that you want the account closed with immediate effect and that you want written confirmation that your request has been actioned.

Hubby bought a shed from Argos on a 3 month interest free deal and they gave him a £2K limit straight off ()

Needless to say a letter was quickly typed wanting the limit reduced to just cover the cost of the shed!

i've heard that they are absolutely awful to deal with when something goes wrong, so whatever you do persevere with them and throw all you have at them if they try and make things hard for you.

Yes I think that would suffice. I would use the payment address as that would be processed quicker I think. Make sure you keep copy of letter and request confirmation though :)
