I purchased this product in 2004 from currys.Has started to develop faults with the temperatures and fan.No longer under guarantee and although recognised by samsung as being faulty not covered by free repair. I am trying to source parts myself.can anyone advise?

I've always found it fairly easy to get parts online though I've never tried for a Samsung.
I Googled it and got this list - try putting your appliance model number in and seeing if you can get the part you need.0 -
I had the same problem.
What is happening is at the back of the fridge inside it is freezing up and this clogs the fan up with ice.
You can dismantle the back plate and defrost it and it will work again for a week but you will need a lot of parts to fix properly. As the guy above says you can get parts but they are expensive. The time i looked at fixing mine i think it was going to cost over £200 for parts alone so i decided to buy a new one.
Search the web for your model number and forum to see what results you get. Try diynot.com for a little help.0 -
6 years is about typical for the life of a fridge freezer these days.0

I had this happen my fridge. It has been featured on Watchdog and if it is that model, it has a fault that Samsung have to fix free of charge, even if out of warranty. I got mine in 2006 and they came out this year and replaced the part, as it could have caught fire. If you google samsung RS21 watchdog you will see loads of others who got the free repair. Just a thought, might not be your model, have a look inside for model details. Mine was icing up and humming like a plane taking off, the temp was all wrong and food wasn't even cool.
It's worth a go, it was very simple to do.
Hope this helps0 -
Says in that link that the warranty was extended to 5 years , OP says its a 2004 model so I think hes out of luck.
I've used Espares a few times before for spare parts (and if you do use them could you be so kind as to use "refer-a-friend" code WGD9NZFC , I get a voucher for a fiver if you do)
