need a loan of £2500 (below average credit rating)
Options
Hiyer!
I was just looking for advice about where to go to get a loan.
I need about £2500 for a new (used) car (I need a new car urgently as my parents have just got rid of mine because it died
)
In the past I've missed payments but have been on the straight and narrow for the last 6 months. No CCJs or defaults. I've had a Capitalone credit card for the last three months with a credit limit of £300. I earn £22k.
My credit isnt immaculate but it's improving and can afford up to £100 a month (more or less) over a period of 2-4 years.
What are my best options? I'm not v clued up when it comes to loans!
Thanks
edit: I should also add that I live with my parents, not renting anymore

Often approaching your own bank is a good starting point. Do you currently have an overdraft?
Do you have any other debts?
If you get turned down then could you not get a much cheaper car for a while, something under £1k?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for your reply.
I tried my bank (HSBC) but I was declined.
I have a £1000 student overdraft which ends in January that I live in unforunately. I kept going over my overdraft so I know I have a bad score with HSBC.0 -
Can't you just get a banger for £200, on that salary without paying rent you can save up £2500 in less than 3 months, then you can buy the new(used) car and ditch the banger.0
