Tertiary Debts/CCA Information

Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone can inform.

When 'old' debts are sold to debt collection agencies, the advice often given on this board is to write ' I do not acknowledge any debt to your company...' and to ask for a copy of the original CCA agreement and a copy of the deed of assignment. Is there any statutory time frame that this information has to be provided within, i.e. 30 days?

Many thanks in advance.

  • CCA states 12 Days to comply with the request, once 28 days from the date of the orginal request has passed the creditor or assignee commits an offence, and the debt becomes unenforcable untill such time as the documentation can be provided
 It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them

Many thanks, that is the information I was looking for.
