Bit of a bargain I reckon, an Acer Aspire SA80 base unit with a 17" TFT monitor for £299.99 delivered (online only offer) Going through Quidco gives another £10.50 off making total price £289.49!!

some spec

Celeron 2.8Ghz
512mb Ram
80gb Hard Drive
DVDRW
AGP Graphics card slot
9 in 1 card reader
Windows Home XP

Official Acer specification http://www.acer.co.uk/acereuro/page9.do?sp=page4&dau34.oid=13207&UserCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=17&CountryISOCtxParam=UK&LanguageISOCtxParam=en&crc=2830026779

Base unit on its own is £250 and monitor £97 but together is £299.99 with free delivery. Ebuyer do the same base unit with 256mb ram+AMD sempron processor for £235 but is highly rated there (5/5 stars average from 37 reviews) I reckon if you get a decent AGP graphics card for £30 this would do for most people.

Pretty good machine for the price. Has an AGP graphics slot so throw in a 6600GT card and you'll have a fairly decent basic machine which will support 3D games at medium resolutions.
Interestingly the TFT resolution (1366x768) seems to imply that this is a widescreen monitor, but the description doesn't state this - could be an error by Comet?

Monitor info must be incorrect as definitley looks like a non-widescreen. They do the same base unit with a 14" widescreen monitor for same price

I got the T630 (better version :)) and it rocks - i added to it and now it rules 3.26Ghz dual core - 2048mb RAM - Radeon x1600 PRO (overclocked) 512MB windows MCE etc. - These computers are good as standard but very easy to upgrade - This would be a nice computer for a gamer looking to improve their machiene - By the way i am not a 30 year old that still lives with their parents :D
