Did a system restore, virus check, defrag but still can't access the internet. Very frustrating can you help?

Whos your Internet Service Provider? (ISP) Virgin, BT?
Do you use a router?
Are you wired or wireless? If wireless have you tried to connect direct via ethernet cable?
Tried simply unplugging everything, waiting a minute and switching on the modem/router then the computer?:idea:0
