Mortgage on a flat over 4 stories

I've had an offer accepted on a flat in a building that is over 4 stories high. I've been trying to get a mortgage offer through a broker who has told me that it's difficult to find good prices because many lenders will not give a mortgage on a 'high-rise' property.
Has anybody else had a problem with this, and does anybody have any recommendations of companies that could help?

Is the property actually a high rise, ex council building? If so, I can't help.
If it is just a normal apartment block which happenes to be higher than 4 stories high, than a simple explanation of the situation to the mortgage company should be sufficient- this happened to me when I bought a couple of years ago.0 -
Try a better broker, and also make sure they aren't a financial adviser, but a dedicated mortgage broker. A good broker makes time to meet all the reps from the tiniest of lenders and thereby gains the required knowledge, whereas someone who spends half thier time selling pensions will struggle.0
