A car loan without risk?

Hi,

is it possible to have a car loan without any risk (to my house)?
I'm planning to pay off my mortgage and it seems silly to have a car loan secured against my nice safe house.
I have a perfect credit and repayment record for 30 odd years.
Although unemployed I'm looking to buy a new car when I secure my next job (if that ever happens).

Thanks,

Ted.

    HI
If you take out car finance then the loan is secured against the vehicle - if you dont pay they could take the card back and it would have nothing to do with your property. If you take out a personal loan and dont pay then several companies are now obtaining charging orders where they register a charge against your property to the value of the debt.
  • Why would youe ever take a car loan against your house or even think that ??

Get finance and it will be secured on the car, alternatively you should be able to get an unsecured loan from yours or another bank.
