Just seen you Martin on Watchdog.
As always sound advice on paying cheques and or how to avoid paying charges on late fees on CC.
I already have a direct debit for my CC as I too had the late charge slapped on me several years ago. Its sound advice.
I went to Halifax yesterday to pay the full balance of a CC I want paying off. Over a £1000 and was told by Halifax that they would charge my £10 for a cheque to get from them to go into Abbey National to pay the card off. In the end I got the cash shoved in an envelope to walk 20 yards up the road.
Fortunately although I am now cleard up I got one debt I dont need to worry about anymore and now a card tart so no interest on another and can now manage a debt without incurring interest.
