Advice please - letter from Halifax

Bit of backstory, my ex and I split up (still living together, put in a claim for IS, waiting for the appeal to be heard blah blah blah) and as a result, I could no longer meet minimum payments to any of my creditors, what money I had (have) coming in is to pay mine and dd's living costs (£45 a week wages, £54 a week CTC, £20 a week CB, and £60 a week ish HB/CTB).
I have the CAB helping with writing and offering £12 a month to Halifax, they are the only ones that I am having problems with at the moment, the others have gone quiet/ accepted my offers.
CAB sent a letter to Halifax with my SOA and what I could offer them about a month ago. Friday I got a phone call from Halifax asking what was happening and if I was tsill getting help. I told them I was and a letter had been sent to them. They have no record of it and said that they would put calls etc on hold for a month in case it turns up.
Yesterday, I got a letter from Halifax that just said they were sending a company representative around on Friday. What does this mean? It was posted 2nd class, and I assume last friday, possibly before they rang.
I have kept them up to date with what is happening and this has scared me tbh.
I am going to write to my caseworker at the CAB (its an outreach one and she is fab compared to the money adviser I saw at the main one) and ask if she can resend the letter to them.
Any advice on how to handle the company rep would be fab, thanks!!

Yes....tell him to go forth & multiply or else you will call the police to report a breach of the peace.
Legally they have to make an appointment with you & you are within your rights to not make 1 with them.
Report the Halifax rogues to the OFT,trading standards & the financial ombudsman.0 -
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

I will send them that letter.
What I dont get is that I dont have a default from them, nor any notice and that the debt is still with Halifax themselves so am a bit surprised that they sent the letter.
Thanks so far

In my experience, Halifax are bad for claiming not to recieve your SOA if the offer you give them is not to their liking. Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.

That would kinda make sense
I am only able to offer them £12 a month, my minimum payment was about £45 a month before I was unable to pay that, but I did still pay something.
Will be getting onto my caseworker today, probably by letter as thats they only way to definitely get hold of her, she i sout in the community a lot of the time.0 -
Hi, what is the EXACT wording of the letter?, my mum had one of these and it is very ambiguous, they just meant they were going to ring but had worded the letter to scare you! x0

It was one sentence that I think said a companpy representative would be making a visit. But saying that it could have said calling at your house.
I foolishly threw it in the bin.0 -
Hi
I've had one of those to and as the previous poster says it probably said something along the lines of our representative will be calling your home on such a such date. I found it odd that they wanted to inform me of this certain call as they had been ringing my home and mobile for the past 6 months on a daily basis anyway
I also agree with the other guys that Halifax never admit to receiving an SOA, CCCS have sent many over the past 6 months and so far Halifax haven't received one, a good idea may be to send a postal order to the address that we send our SOA to and if that is cashed then we know that they are full of it

It's to scare you. They can't come in without a court order, anyway.0

No they won't. I'll bet a pound to a penny they said in the letter they "MAY" send someone round.
It's not worth their time, inconvenience or (most importantly) money to do that...not to mention illegal without an appointment.
It's really important to remember that these guys actually have LESS authority than your postman who is allowed access to your property backed by law, they can't.0
