Just wondering if hot flushes associated with menopause are cyclical or whether once they start, they happen regularly?

Welcome to the menopause
They can happen anytime anywhere. I take the menopace suppliments, they help me alot, can't take hrt, plus I don't want to either. If you're into essential oils, try geranium, clary sage and rose. It's not funny when you do get hot flushes. HTH:) I get paid to smell great :j0 -
Try cutting out sugar and alcohol and you will find that you hardly get any. Might seem a bit drastic but really works.0

Hi, I get hot flushes, they do come and go. I went on HRT for a while and they stopped but the HRT didn't suit me so I came off it and back to the hot flushes but I find them more bearable than the effects of the HRT. I have heard that evening primrose is good but the pharmacist told me it doesn't go with Prozac which I also take but am going to check with my doctor.0

I've had them for 4 years & really have suffered, particularly with regard to sleeping (or NOT sleeping!). At their worst they have happened every hour or so for 24 hours at peak intensity - dripping, feeling like a furnace. Then I can have a few weeks when they get milder and less frequent - maybe around 10 in a 24hr period. I had relief for a few months when wearing a ladycare magnet. Oh bliss! then they returned & now the magnet doesn't work.
I'm resigned to see them through now as I don't want HRT especially as I've heard many times that when you stop it the flushes are back with a vengeance & I figure I'd rather go through them now than when I'm older."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0
