Double oak storage bed help!

I'm about to move into a new house and although I have a largish bedroom it is much smaller than my present one.

My dream was to have a lovely oak bed, however because I will need extra storage I resigned myself to a divan.

I was shopping today and spotted the ideal solution in John Lewis http://www.johnlewis.com/230853397/Product.aspx but it is a bit on the pricey side!

Has anyone purchased a similar bed that is equally as sturdy but maybe not as expensive?

Wooden storage divans like the one on your link are very rare. In fact most wooden beds take up far more room than a divan.

Did you know that divan bases now come in a variety of modern fabrics, and not just the cream coloured damasks that they used to come in. Obviously with a normal divan, they have a wide choice of storage options.

If I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores if you want good quality at a low price, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and use the bed. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.
