Surely you can spare a measly 29p or something for your ''mother-in-law's'' birthday card - plenty of cheap ones around in poundland, home bargains, etc....! i can understand not being able to afford a pressie cos you're saving for something, but a card....???!

    Make her one then.

If you're 'busy saving for something' surely a small amount (like the other poster said) 29/30p out of your 'savings' wont dip into them too much.

You can get cards in asda for less than a pint of milk.
Just because you are offended, doesn't mean you are right

Try this link. It automatically downloads a card for you to print. Works great too.
  • mmm some people are a bit harsh aren't they...?

well my thinking is that if your partner loves her child enough she will forgive you for not buying her a card seeing as you are trying to save for something

anyway unless she collects cards it will just be thrown away a few weeks after her birthday therefore will be wasteful

i usually go to my local market and buy cards from a card stall in there, you can get them for 30p-but if you can find a free one then thats great! but all the effort its gunna take trawling through site after site you might aswell count up some coppers and go to to a cheapo card shop

You cAN MAKE nice 3d cards by saving onld cards you've been sent and cutting out nice pictures from them. Then put these onto blank card using blu tack or double sided tape. More titivation required obviously lol.

there are a lot of shops in our town now that do 7 cards for £1 and they're actually rather nice cards, not cheap looking ones. I often buy a bundle of 7 as they do for friends and pals of the kids. May be worth looking next time you're out for future reference

when i was a teen, i was out with my dad
we went to an uncles house and it was his birthday
he had taken him a bottle of whisky, but had forgotten the card my mum had bought, written & laid out

i never forgot what he did
    he went to the bathroom
got ONE sheet of toilet paper
    and on it he wrote

    As times are hard
    i send no card
    my money goes like vapour
    but let that pass
    just wipe you A$$
    on this nice toilet paper

    :rotfl:

not saying MIL would appreciate it
but your Q made me think about it
and my student daughter has used it more times than i care to admit:D
