I found this excellent website on learning how to play the guitar. The guy who runs it explains everything so clearly that even a musical dunce like me can understand it. I might even get my 30 year old guitar out of the cupboard and start learning again:

Hmm, I got an AVG threat warning when I tried to look at the site so I closed it.

If you're looking for guitar lessons I've found nowhere better than justinguitar.com (I can't post proper links yet despite having been here quite some time, but I lurk rather than post)

It's run by Justin Sandercoe who has played with Katie Melua among others and this site has received recognition from Brian May of Queen.

It's awesome, a LOT of videos for all levels of ability and a huge amount of songs to learn to play.

It's free to use but a donation is asked if you can afford it to keep the site running.
