How about a few whole salmons, they look impressive if well-dressed & don't have to cost an absolute fortune.
Maybe some bruschetta? Are you looking for Hot/cold buffet or a mix of the two? Do you have a budget in mind? What foods do you like/hate ? What mood are you going for ( may seem a strange question, but I guess what I'm really asking is : Is low cost the main drive, or is it more about making the budget go further in terms of what is on offer?0 -
Do you have a Costco fairly nearby? They do great packs of sliced meats that work out to be really good value and are great quality, they also do big quiches which are really nice as well. Large bags of ready prepared salad and large tubs of coleslaw and potato salad. In fact they have a large range of food perfect for buffets. They also have frozen boxes of little cakes which are bite size and their profiteroles are very cheap. You can also get all the serving platters etc from there as well. I did a buffet buying most of food from there for my sisters 50th which she had in a hall.Everyone commented on what a lovely spread it was.0

I recently did a buffet for about 150+ people for less then £150.
Buy joints of meat, gammon , beef or pork etc. Let them go cold easier to slice, cheaper than platters of meat from Costco.
Wraps with chease, onion & mayo, then some with ham as well as the cheese mix. Roll wraps and slice into about 5 slices (wrap rounds as Costco call them) Can put chicken mayo and lemon juice mix in as well
Some croissants from lidl with grated cheese and ham, cut in half.
Sausage rolls, homemade quiche, pork pie.
Platter of salami (Lidl)
egg mayo, tuna mayo (finger rolls, or cheap bread cut into triangles, looks good if you mix white and brown bread, don't worry about buttering, nobody knows)
Chicken nuggets, cold pizza (14" from Asda) cold wedges n dips
salad crisps nuts . What about bagels with smoked salmon n cream cheese.Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them
