May Have to Sell my Panasonic Breadmaker

Options
I received my brand new Panasonic 253 Breadmaker last week and have really enjoyed experimenting with different breads. However, yesterday I found I was a bit 'loose' :o and know that it must be to do with the bread Ive eaten as its the only change Ive made to my diet. Ive had no stomach ache Im just a bit windy and loose :o.

Ive so far eaten the plain white loaves from the BM, but on Saturday I ate a sandwich from 70% wholemeal loaf and I have been eating Cinnamon and Date loaf for breakfast every day. I am really hoping its not the white bread causing the trouble because it is absolutely delicious. The date loaf only has white bread flour in it though as well as maple syrup, cinnamon, quinoa and dates. I know the dates could be the problem but I messed up a bit and there are hardly any dates in it anyway!

Anyone else had any problems with their homemade bread? I am going to stop eating the bread for a couple of days and then eat some white first to see if it does anything. Otherwise I'll have to switch to making gluten free bread or just sell the BM :(

If you have been eating a lot more bread than usual it could just be a reaction to that, I find that a change in diet has a similar effect on me.

maybe its like Biddyrolo says, a change in diet. Are you ok with yeast based products?

could it be the dates as opposed to the bread?

Dates are very 'good for the digestive system'. Try going without that for a few days. You may have a virus. It could be anything. Don't do anything rash like selling it just yet!

Try pizza dough too! If you can eat white bread from the shops you're unlikely to need to go to gluten free loaves.

As far as I know, yes. I have always had to be careful not to eat too much wholemeal bread but apart from that Im ok. This is why I thought it might be the flour. The bread hardly seems to have any dates in it (unless they've melted into the mixture?) but I suppose it could be the dates.

Im so annoyed. I really hate my digestive system. The slightest thing will set it off. Yet I can eat chili and curry and things like that!

I'd be tempted just to give it a few more days sticking to the same diet. The problem currently could just be that you're getting a little more fibre than you're used to with the dates. And just like when you eat a bit more fruit, your digestive system needs time to get used to it.

Yes, that is why I thought a couple of days to settle my bowels and then start eating a bit of white bread (only small amounts) each day until Im sure its not affecting me and then perhaps try a cinnamon loaf without the dates.

i just got home from work (11 hours there - but that's another story!) to find i had my pack from gut week 2006 that i signed up for a few weeks ago from the freebies board. i thought you might find it useful - i'll go try and find the thread. (although i have to say, flicking through them and finding diagrams of what your stool should look like was perhaps a little much over food - but the rest of the info looks really useful!)
