CSA intial payment help

Hi all,
My partner has started the CSA process to pay for his two kids. They started this a month ago and he still hasn't got a confirmation about how much he should be paying.
He usually pays on the 20th on a private agreement and I think the other parent has requested the same date to the CSA. They also told him to cease all payments until hthey did their calculations.
If he got a letter this week would they force him to find the money to pay this month's payment even though its less than a week away or would they add it onto the arrears? Also, if he got the letter after the 20th would he have to make an initial payment there and then?
Any help would be appreciated as I am starting to worry.

he must put money aside for when the arrears notification comes once they have compelted the assessment.
It might not be done this month, or next month.
He wont need to make this payment on the 20th as per the old private agreement if the issue is now with the CSA. Instead he shouldnt spend that money but keep it aside for when the CSA have completed their assessment as more than likly it will not be this month or next. In which case he will have arrears so by putting the money aside he can pay that to the arrears when they come and hopefully stop the beginings of financial turmoil..lolWhen dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
goto the CSA website get him to enter his details of earnings and he will be able to work out what he has to pay per week, then get him to put this aside0
