I have just changed my gas and electric to npower. Not sure whether I am going to be better off or not but anything is worth a try!!
I just was wondering a couple of things really.
I have got my final account from scottish power for £110 for gas and havent got electric yet - can i arrange to pay these like £10 per month or something? The npower lady advised me to cancel my DD to them as (her words) "they cant exactly cut you off can they? pay them when it suits you".
Also, I want to keep more up to date with my meter readings - how often do you do them (to be honest I dont really understand them at all) but was thinking of calling them with them once a month - is this regular enough?
thanks

I just moved supplier from British Gas and owed them about £135. The new company couldnt complete the transfer until I had a clear balance with the first company. I had to put it on my C/C (0%) and am paying it off so that I could switch and make the savings.0

I thought you couldn't be transferred until you'd cleared what you owe to the previous company... worth checking out really. Did you use a comparison service like uswitch to find out who's the cheapest for you? As to meter readings - the more regularly you can do them the more accurate your bills, once a month should be fine. Or, if you get a bill that says it is based on estimated readings - phone them up with the real readings and pay what you actually owe, to keep on top of things.Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. i hope you did use uswitch, or new Simply switch as they are both giving pretty good cash back on quidco

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
