Mortgage Contract/AIP Direct from HSBC - Does it actually mean anything?

Hi All
Went to see a very pleasant mortgage advisor who told me he couldn't beat my 10% LTV deal from the HSBC
I get that an AIP online is just a few random figures chucked into the calculator, however we went into HSBC and did a similar thing with an adviser there who did a credit check there and then.
If based on what I told him was accurate, does it make it more likely to be offered a mortgage from them?

If they did a credit check, and you can confirm all the figures you gave them in terms of income, you can be fairly confident you will get an offer, however HSBC can be very picky, so if there are any complications, ensure they are aware of them from day one, so you get rejected sooner rather than when it is too late if they are going to reject you.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
