More information than I wanted....

...I'll gloss over the details, but I had to ask for directions to somebody's house recently and got a rant instead. The person I asked claimed to be my host's landlord, and demanded I pass on the message that he wanted his rent.

I said absolutely nothing, and I've said nothing since. Well, until now! My preferred course of action is tactful amnesia-after all, the "landlord" could be the local nutter for all I know. And it's really none of my business. But if your real or pretend landlord were telling strangers you were behind on your rent, would you want to know?

    TBH I'd leave it alone.

    Hmm interesting.

Do you respect their privacy, keep quiet and let them deal with their own problems, if indeed they are real?

Or do you try to help, have a quiet word with them, direct them to MSE/CAB etc.?

It would depend if they were a good friend or a casual acquaintance.

For a good friend I might, making clear I was abhorred at the ranty one's behaviour and lining myself up on the side of the mate from the outset of course.

Otherwise I'd not say a word to the person and simply shout back at landlord/local nutjob to "pay me f*ckin courier rates or shut the f*ck up, I aint your runner"! (In my experience they never expect quite THAT level of coarse from an otherwise well turned out and quiet looking young lady- is such good fun when they recoil with thier mouths ajar :rotfl:)

I very seriously hope my Granny doesn't read MSE or I'm in lots of trouble indeed! On the offchance she does I better add... I didn't mean it Grandma, I would have said "terribly sorry not to be able to assist you Sir, however I am not in the habit of passing messages, good day"... honestly I would! :o

Coarse is fantastic fun though... *ahem* so I'm told. :p;)
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
