When will I be on the electoral roll? Bad credit history

Hi guys,

Not sure if I am posting in the right place but I applied to be on the electoral roll with the council a few months ago and equifax is still showing that I'm not on there at my current property. I am trying to improve my credit file as I have a REAAALLLY BAD credit history so I was going to attempt to get a credit card to try and help boost my credit score but didn't think there was much point in applying if I'mnot on the electoral roll.

Anyone know when it will be updated as I've tried contacting equifax and they haven't got back to me.

Hi in_a_mess... i was talking to experian today because it still doesnt show me on the electoral role at this address i am living now.. i was told that the last time the records were updated was 2005!!..:eek: The lady i spoke to passed it to the update department and said they would be contacting the local council and getting it sorted out. I will contact Equifax tomorrow and see what they say as i cant see it on my report with them either.
I would suggest you call them again and make sure you get it sorted asap!.

Does it affect your credit score alot if your not on the electoral though? I'm hoping when I get on it that I can get a bad credit credit card t help me re-build my credit score.

Yes, as far as i am aware, while you are NOT on the role, you will not get credit, as technically nobody knows who you are.

Be very careful with the credit card you're intending to get, make sure you pay it off in full each month, or the interest will mount up like crazy!! Mark it on a calendar, set a reminder on your cell~fone, do whatever you need to do but DONT forget to pay it.
