Vanquis advice

Ill try to be straight to the point. I havent paid my bill for nearly 2 months and they keep ringing me all the time.

I cannot afford to pay what I owe them, Im not working right now and could probably only pay £10/month.

Has anyone tried to negotiate with vanquis before? what were they like?

If you are not in work then the most you should be paying them is £1 per month - its no more than a court would order anyway after all outgoings are taken into account.
Refuse to answer their security questions if they ring - they'll soon give up.

I havent answered the phone at all. I think Im just going to pay the £10 at the bank but Im worried about the charges as £10 wont even clear the balance/interest let alone the £12 for going over the limit, £12 for late payment etc

Well thats up to you what you want to pay...but for anyone out of work, in my view, £1 per month is more than appropriate.

I appreciate you wanting to do the right thing...but for anyone who is out of work, i would suggest £1 per month as a token payment - its no more than a court would order anyway.
Its tough enough in work, out of work its even worse when you have to pay bills/outgoings etc...
Its whats best for you - not whats best for Vanquis.
Think you will find the charges will be illegal anyway & can easily be challenged etc..

Stop phoning them & refuse to answer security questions if they phone you.
Its the type of treatment that people come to expect from the industry these days - no matter what you offer them, they will always state they want more.
Their greed is the reason their industry is in chaos - yet they dont seem to grasp the simple concept of treating customers with respect & sympathy might actually get them somewhere....
    Maybe 1 day they'll learn.....
