Service Charge Arrears: fixed proposed payment is not accepted..

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could gives me suggestion on this problem. I have arrears on my Service Charges. The charge it self is pretty overpriced (I am not the only person in our block who thinks the same), but we couldn’t do anything at the moment. As it stands, I am on DMP which shows that I don’t have enough cash flow to get this thing sorted. I have sent letter to them explaining the situation and how I can not afford to pay this all at once. I proposed a fixed monthly payment, but they are adamant and just wont budge. Any suggestion what would be the best solution for this?
Thanks a lot.

Your service charge should be treated as a priority bill, failure to pay it could result in the landlord claiming breach of contract, I suggest whilst you're experiencing financial difficulties inform the other residents, if they agree to your delayed payments obtain their written agreement and send it to the managing agents / landlord, it's worth remembering, your service charge fee has to be paid as agreed in order for any 3rd party agent cleaners / gardeners etc., etc., to complete their obligations.
If you really are stuck, this organisation may be able to offer advice.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
