Well if you can't answer those questions without help, how are you going to cope in an interview?

Or do you plan on taking some MSEers in with you?

i've racked my brain and done it now, thanks anyway. was just a moment of panic
  • Have you done this kind of work before, or is this a new field you are hoping to move into? If you have worked as a handyman before, has the householder left you alone to get on with it knowing that you can be trusted to do the work properly and tidy up afterwards? If you worked in a shop were you trusted to man the till unsupervised? Have you done any favours for friends or neighbours where they have lent you a key so you can let yourself in to do the work? I am sure you'll be able to think of "trust" examples like this from your past experience.

Have you offered good customer service; i.e. going out of your way to be helpful, smiling, being polite and making the customer feel important? Can you think of an example where you made someone's day because you were so helpful?

Do you like to learn, either by attending courses, reading books or by learning on the job? I bet you can think of something you've enjoyed learning.

As for passion; what do you really enjoy doing? Are you passionate about producing high quality work?

It can be difficult to think of examples, and I know that when I try to think too hard my mind goes blank. I like to read through the questions and then go off and do something else. When I come back the answers just seem to pop into my head.

    Good luck with your application.
  • Oops, looks like we've crossed posts. Anyway, I hope it goes well for you :)

The vast majority of people struggle with applications and need coaching for interviews. Surely this forum is about asking for help in areas where you are less than perfect.

Places where you can find advice.

This is aimed at young people but the advice is good for adults.
