How much of my savings should I use to overpay mortgage?

I understand that it is wise to pay off as much of my mortgage as I can from my savings, but how much of my savings should I use up like this? I may be changing jobs soon and more importantly I may even be starting a family next year. Is there a "happy medium" or recommended percentage amount to keep back? Thank you for any advice.

A good emergency fund would be 3/6 months of income if working for a company ( hence sick pay/ pension/holiday pay) and 6/9 months if self employed0

What rate is the mortgage? if its low might be better sticking the cash in savings

If you plan on starting a family you dont really want to change jobs just before ( maturnity benefits) but I would build up as big a savings pot as possible and overpay each month out of spare cash ( so you get into the overpaying habit)0
