Default on credit file

Hi,
I have just checked my credit file and notice that I have a default from british gas.
I have heard people talking about templates to get them removed. Anyone any ideas??
The account defaulted on 17/03/2006 and says satisfied. Am I right in saying it wont be off my account until 17/03/2012?

I guess the obvious place to start is whether the default was added to your account correctly - ie you did default. Otherwise if it is correct I'm not sure how you would get it removed?

Hi there
A useful link below of the national debtline, you will find template letters, click on the map to your area and they should come up.
