hmm in that case reading I don't think it is. We've had tenancy since last year, just paid £500 cash. The bond is mentioned in the tenancy but no notice of where it's held.0

With no activity for over 18 months I doubt the OP is around to answer; I suggest you start a new thread.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Probably too late to be useful, but if anyone did happen upon this thread as I have done: all rental properties must have an annual gas safety inspection. All deposits paid prior to or on commencement of renting a property should be registered with a government approved scheme (one is called the Deposit Protection Scheme or DPS - this is free to landlords and tenants. Sorry I can't recall the name of the other(s)). Anyone renting out a property should be paying tax on the rental income. Most mortgage lenders expect the be asked before a property they are mortgaging is rented out, unless it is a buy to let mortgage. Even with the BTL though, all the other things apply. Also prior to renting a property you should be able to see the EPC (Energy Performance Certificate). If you can't see an EPC and GSC - Do not rent the property! - it is probably neither legal nor safe!0
