Sounds great, neas - good luck with your purchase and your new house.

PS There is an alternative to 'putting your life on hold' while you rent - it's called 'living'. ;)

    Corrected that for you;)
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

3.99% fix is with britannia mortgage/coop. you need 25% equity.. and a 999 quid arrangement fee. Done the sums and this beats the 4.59% fixed offset account with YBS i was going to go with..

Am aiming to overpay by 400 quid a month or so at first. Am assuming i can overpay straight away and am limited to 10% of mortgage balance per year.

That's a great mortgage rate! I wish I had seen it when I was arranging my own. Good luck with the house, we've been in ours for a couple of weeks and it's fab. :)

Does this mean you will be posting endlessly about how prices are about to rise?
    Been away for a while.

I doubt it.... i've hardly been active in this board. Its hard to be anal about house prices for years..... it just gets boring you know?. It was annoying for me to have to wait 2-3 years to save a significant deposit up and it was a long wait... for my profession

I actually want them to drop 15-20%.... so i can make an easier jump to a 4 bedroom in the future. Im not in it for a profit i need the space to have my family.

    Why only 15-20% then?
    Why not 25%?
    30%?
    50%?
    The fabulous 70%?
Think how easy the jump will be then.

It does amuse me that everyone who's been ranting about prices falling off a cliff for the last three years and has now taken the step to finally buy a place either want prices to fall or feels the need to state that they don't care if they do.

It's the biggest financial commitment you'll ever make! What do you mean you don't want it to go up in value?

These people would get far more respect if they just grew a pair, held their hands up and said they got it wrong and said what they actually felt instead of trying con everyone.

nobodys a bull or bear forever it depends on your preference but i still think houses are overpriced somewhat. Im just glad i can get on the ladder or 'snake' at some point. i hate not being able to 'do something' with my flat... whereas my house will be mine (well 33% mine lol)
