How long is it reasonable - incorrect Default

Hello all,
Not sure if this is the correct place to put this but here it goes-
I have 2 defaults on my credit file one with O2 and one with Barclays, for both I have been informed that they were there in error and would be removed from my credit file.
I was just wondering what the length of time this should take is?, with O2 it was a case that they had charged me twice for closing my account in 2007 and had ended up defaulting me in error, for this they confirmed they would be removing the default in April and it is still there now
As for Barclays that is a completley different and LONG story where they closed my account without notice and then wrote letters demanding full payment to my old address ( which I hadent lived in for 3 years!! ) they made loads of excuses at the time ranging from not recieving the any correspondence from me to changing the address and then the signatures didnt match before finally I recieved a letter conforming that they were in error on it and should not have closed the account
They wouldnt reinstate the account but wrote in the letter that once I had paid off the overdraft in the account ( for which I have now finally done at £50 a month!! :T) they will remove the default from my file. I have written to them via recorded delivery and have enclosed a copy of the letter they sent me at the time
As I say I was just wondering how long these things take to get taken off my file - I think I am just impatient as they overdraft was the last of my £6000 debt remaining and now I want these final bits off my file

Generally things can take up to about 6weeks to appear/disappear from your credit file.
8weeks is not unheard of but anything more than that is too long and should definitely be chased.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
